Webquest Introduction

Who?

  • Virtual Learners & Homeschoolers (Ages 10+)

What?

  • Accessing reliable age-appropriate social studies research sites and resources.

  • Engaging in blog discussion and chats about project-related topics in a safe online learning space

  • Access class material online with regular updates and due date reminders.

  • Building research skills in using primary and secondary sources.

  • Formulating your own questions and identifying misconceptions based on research 

When?

  • Over the course of 10 days

Where? 

  • Online, in the school computer lab and at home if possible

Why?

  • To strengthen individual research skills

  • Providing reliable resources important to completing a research project

  • To allow opportunities for collaboration and peer feedback

  • To engage students in a reliable, safe online environment.

The Process

As 7th grade scholars you have the opportunity to engaged with your peers, do independent research, and complete a fun and interesting project on adinkra symbols! Follow the steps below to successfully complete this web quest!

The Process

Step 2: Select a Final Project

Day 4

You may choose between: Designing a museum exhibit about adinkra symbols or an Opt-Ed newsletter about the impact symbols have on people and culture.

Step 3: Do your Research!

Day 5 & 6

During this time, you will research information to help you through completing your final project.

Step 4: Complete your Project!

Days 7, 8 & 9

Now that you have all of your research compiled and ready to use, spend this time working on your final project! Use the templates provided and use the student chat to discuss ideas with your classmates!

Day 10

Submit your project online using the file sharing.
